About 8 months ago I set out to rank as high as possible for DUI attorney in Seattle. I chose that keyword for several reasons, one of which was the fact that the cost per click was really high. I wanted to make money online and figured I would go for the gold right off the bat.

So, like a lot of other people I began to do everything I could to learn about online marketing. And I’m talking about the adsense pay per click kind, not affiliate marketing or ebook marketing or anything like that. It just seemed like the adsense online marketing methods were so easy and money could be made online so fast.

To get started, I created a couple of DUI defense attorney blogs, and then kept reading about online marketing, waiting for the money to roll in. And then I waited some more. And then I waited some more. And nothing happened.

It was about that time that I actually realized what the key to making money online was. The key is to do less reading and to do more writing. Any amount of reading on a decent site (including this one) will quickly lead you to the conclusion that a successful online marketing campaign takes about 10% quality content and about 90% as many and as quality backlinks as you can get. And they’re one hundred percent correct.

That means if you are reading this article, thinking about how you are going to make money online, you need to stop reading, open up a new window, and start writing articles on your subject. Write them on your blog and point them to the home page. And then go write some more articles on article submission sites and point them to your blog. In no short order you’ll start climbing up Google and start really making some serious online money.
